The main building of the Kiso Town Hall was newly reopened in March 2021 as a wooden building of large trees with the aim of securing wood from Kiso lumber.
It is characterized by the abundant use of "Kiso cypress" and "larch" from Kiso, and the use of construction methods such as "beam making" that is traditional in the region.
The spacious waiting room, the large conference room, and the "Nakasendo Entry" that runs through the center of the building in a middle corridor from the office are close to the lives of the local people. It has a one-stop window structure with each section lined up on both sides, which is perfect for the lively town hall scene.
