Nakamura's Residence the traditional houses in Narai

Nakamura's Residence the traditional houses in Narai

Nakamura's residence was a merchant house of comb, and it is a typical town house of Narai-juku with a main house and a storehouse. It was built around 1843 and is still open to the public as a museum.

Honnakamura House is a 21-tatami-mat space on the first floor. The second floor used to be a work space for lacquer craftsmen.

It is said that the high ceiling atrium space and the hearth were in most households at that time, so it can be used for the general household scene from the Meiji period to the Showa period.
